Privacy Policy

What information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Blusher and Blogging collects through the website (blusherandblogging.com), why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits the site.

Who we are

Blusher and Blogging is an independent online directory of beauty businesses in cities across the United States. We help visitors compare hair salons, barbershops, nail studios, spas and other beauty services. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at support@blusherandblogging.com.

How the directory works

The website is organised into city and service pages (for example “best beauty businesses in Dallas”). Each listing shows practical details about a business — such as its name, address, phone number, website, opening hours and public rating — that we compile from publicly available sources, business websites and profile pages. These listings mostly describe businesses rather than individuals, and we do not sell or rent any contact information found on the site to third parties.

Information you give us

When you use our forms, we receive the information you choose to send. The “List Your Business” form collects the business name, service category, city, address, phone number, email address, website and any message you add. If you email us directly, we keep the content of our correspondence so we can help you. We only use these details to review and respond to enquiries and to maintain the directory.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server automatically records limited technical information about visits, such as your browser type and version, device type, internet protocol (IP) address, the pages you visit and the date and time of your visit. Where we use analytics, the same kind of aggregate data is processed so we can understand, in bulk, how visitors use the site and improve it. This information is not used to identify visitors personally.

Cookies

The website places small files called cookies on your device. Some are strictly necessary for the site to work. We also work with advertising partners who may place cookies so they can serve and measure advertisements, including the third-party vendors used by Google AdSense, which use the DoubleClick cookie to display ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.

Managing advertising cookies

You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google’s Ads Settings, the AboutAds opt-out, or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. You can also disable or delete cookies in your browser settings; this will not stop your browser visiting the site, but parts of the site may not work as smoothly.

Legal basis for processing (EEA and UK visitors)

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on the legal bases of: your consent (for example when you submit a form or where personalised advertising is shown), legitimate interest (to operate, secure and improve the website), and compliance with legal obligations.

How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and process business listing requests.
  • To operate, maintain and improve the website.
  • To analyse, in aggregate, how the site is used.
  • To protect the security of the website and to comply with the law.

Information sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where it is necessary: with trusted service providers who help us operate the website (such as web hosting), with advertising partners who display ads through their own systems, and where we are required to do so by law or to protect the rights and safety of our visitors and ourselves.

Third-party links

Listings link out to business websites, mapping services and review platforms. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, so we encourage you to review their policies before sharing any information with them.

Data retention

Business enquiries submitted through the “List Your Business” form are stored so we can review and respond to them, and are deleted once they are no longer needed. Other personal information is kept only for as long as required for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law.

Children

The website is a general audience directory and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@blusherandblogging.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we change how the site works or to satisfy new legal requirements. When we make significant changes we will update the policy on this page, and continued use of the website after changes means you accept the updated policy.
