Dermalogica’s Barrier Repair Moisturiser

My product of the week is this fragrance free gel moisturiser which is part of Dermalogica’s Ultra Calming skincare range. It is silky and soothing and smooths over the skin to shield and protect it. It literally melts into the skin.

It creates a ‘shield’ for sensitised skin. Skin that reacts to anything and everything – wind, heat, cold weather, pollution, hormonal imbalance, central heating, stress.

All of these factors and more can cause a sensitised skin condition. If sensitised skin is left untreated and uncared for it’s possible for  permanent cellular damage to be the result – and as a result of that – premature ageing.

Sensitised skin could be skin that reddens, burns, or gets sore easily, has patches of dry skin or eczema, or becomes inflamed. Unhappy uncomfortable feeling skin.

I don’t have particularly reactive skin, but I always have a tube of barrier repair to hand. It has been a saviour to me over the last few weeks. The nickel earrings that I have to wear at work have given me contact dermatitis. I’ve always reacted badly to metals. My ear lobes are dry and incredibly irritated. This has been a build up over time. I have been wearing these earrings in the play I am doing since January, and my ears have had enough! Even after painting them, with clear nail polish, my ears are rejecting them – almost closing over. The only thing that has helped – and I have been trying everything – is Dermalogica’s Barrier Repair.

Whenever I get colds and am constantly blowing my nose, the one thing that stops my skin reddening and flaking around my nose is Barrier Repair – the same applies to cracking at the sides of the mouth – which I find particularly bad with change of weather.

I also used the Phillips Re-Aura laser rejuvenation device over a two month period recently for a sponsored post, and nothing soothes the skin quite like this moisturiser after a laser treatment.

I highly recommend Barrier Repair for skin that often feels unsettled and irritated, and needs some comfort. A little of this product goes a long way

Thanks Steff! The free delivery is a massive help as money is tight these days. I also got a few free samples of their other products with my purchase, which is extremely useful when thinking of buying products online as you don’t really know what you’re going to get like in the stores.

I have been using barrier repair for years and haven’t seen anything else like it. I use it with the Dermalogica ultracalming cleanser which is really gentle, my therapist gave me an excellent tip. She said that it was especially kind when applied with cotton wool.
