Bio-Oil Review

8 Sep

I ordered some Bio Oil yesterday from feelunique.com for my friend in Australia. It is extremely expensive there compared to here in the UK, and when we were in Ibiza at the beginning of August she was so annoyed at herself for not buying any in London before we flew.

Most people will probably be familiar with Bio Oil. But let me remind you – as I have been reminded by the bottle that I finished at home last week – of its many uses and benefits.

This won’t remove stretch marks, it won’t fully erase scars but it definitely improves the appearance of the skin and hydrates it. I love to use it on my legs- I have very dry legs. And Gilda – my friend from Australia – uses it when she has been sunbathing. It contains Vitamin A and Vitamin E – which absorb deeply into the skin.

My usage suggestion:- Morning and evening for two/three months

There are benefits to massaging the body – either with Bio Oil or something else – massage helps with circulation and lymphatic drainage. I would also recommend a body brush- something that I am using every single morning since a dry blood test told me that my lymphatic system is congested!! Always brush towards the heart. So upwards on the legs and arms.

Bio Oil can also be used on the face. As your nightly moisturiser – if you wish – or under a moisturiser. Bio‑Oil supplements the skin’s natural oil layer, helping to combat dehydration.

I love that this brand doesn’t make outlandish promises. It says what it does, and it does what it says. Nothing is going to ‘remove’ stretch marks after all.

Until the end of Sunday feelunique still has a fabulous summer sale on, and Bio Oil is one of the products in that sale. So I basically posted a huge 200ml bottle of Bio Oil to my friend in Sydney for £12.99. The postage is free to anywhere in the world on feelunique.com – no matter how much, or how little you spend. If I had bought the oil for full price in a high street chemist and posted it myself I think it would have cost at least double that. I also seem to repeatedly find myself in endlessly long queues in whichever post office I end up in. I’m delighted to have sent it to her.

Bio Oil Uses/Targets

Stretch Marks

Scars (Vitamin E Capsules broken open would be another recommendation)

Dehydrated Skin

Ageing Skin

Uneven Skin Tone (I love to use it across the sometimes rather neglected chest)

Sounds great. Can I ask a quick question though? Does it fully absorb into the skin? I can’t stand the greasy feeling left by baby oil after a shower. And I don’t want to ruin clothes, sheets etc.

Love Bio Oil, ever since I had major knee surgery which resulted in a 7 inch scar, I’ve used it daily religiously.

Great review, found it by googling Bio oil, since I was wondering if this was worth getting or not. I decided to give it a try after reading this, so thanks so much! :)
